We shoot a lot of timelapse material - it adds a great dynamism and energy to a film. This can be done on the main unit, such as a RED One, when it's just one or two shots in the shooting day.
More often, though, we work using a digital stills camera, like a Nikon D300, as a timelapse second unit. It has an imaging area about the same size as a RED One sensor (super35mm size), a very similar resolution (12MP), and a comparable dynamic response. In short, it intercuts perfectly with material shot on a RED One.
