In 4K mode the RED One is operating as a 35mm digital film camera. The full sensor size is the same as super35, so the images have the same depth of field characteristics as 35mm film. The camera can run up to 30fps in 4K, and a 16:9, 2:1 or 1.2:1 (anamorphic) aspect ratio can be set. If faster frame speeds are needed for slow-motion, then the camera can be set up to record in 3K up to 60fps. Sound can be recorded directly to the camera if necessary.
We like to shoot Red 4K with the following set up:
Red One kit, EVF & LCD 2x 320GB drives (about 2 hours on each) 4x 16GB CF cards (about 8 mins on each - for shots involving a lot of camera disturbance)
